Missionaries with Urgent Needs:

Note: This article was taken from the Church of God World Missions Site.  Please visit them at www.cogwm.org for more information.  I hope you will prayerfully consider these needs that are listed.

How would you feel if your neighborhood depended exclusively on your work to provide electricity for light and warmth, but your own food, shelter and clothing were dependent upon the gifts of a neighborhood far away?

How would you feel if from time to time the people far away forgot what you looked like and your valuable work spreading light? What if you had to leave the work at hand and travel back to restore relationships with the people who supplied these basic needs of life?

Perhaps you would feel an urgency to stay where the light was already so dim. Perhaps you would feel lonely, forgotten and unappreciated. You might even become frustrated and fearful.

Church of God missionaries leave the nurture and comfort of their own homes and culture to answer the call of God. Because missions involves “senders” and “goers,” they depend on the sustained support of those with whom they share a vision of being lighthouses in places darkened by a lack of the gospel.

Recent economic developments in the United States and abroad have severely reduced the amount of support for some of our missionaries. When the dollar given is losing value against the local currency, it affects the ability of missionaries to pay rent, buy food and travel to people receptive of the gospel.

Currently there are missionaries who have exceeded the amount of support that has been given for them. Their accounts are in the red. Many are currently traveling the United States searching for every opportunity to become acquainted with churches and their people. Many are on the field, unable to adequately find someone to sustain the good works and Good News while they come back to their own “neighborhood.”

Please consider supporting one or more of these missionaries with what you can. A listing of current “Urgent Needs” missionaries is available for your knowledge. A link is provided in the listing for secure online giving. Or, you may send your support through the mail: Church of God World Missions, P. O. Box 8016, Cleveland, TN 37320-8016.

We are the hands and feet of God to accomplish His will on earth. Won’t you extend your support and gifts to godly men and women? You’ll provide necessary physical sustenance and share encouragement to follow hard after God.

Help make sure the Light doesn’t go out!

For a list of complete needs go to the Church of God World Missions page and click on the link that says "Missionaries with Urgent Needs".  It is right in the middle of the home page.
