The Second Chance Ministry is a ministry devoted to the homeless community living in the Southwest Detroit area. We hold a church service every Sunday at 1:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Prince Kootama.
The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. (Eccl 7:8)

Pastor Kootama began this ministry approximately seven years ago, and has been serving the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless. The church is located on Michigan Avenue, at 18th (just west of Roosevelt Park; which is located in front of the abandoned train station, in downtown Detroit). Pastor Kootoma is also a very talented recording artist. His CD is available on his website at www.kootama.com. All proceeds from the sale of his CD, go directly to the Second Chance Ministry.
God is in the House!
On Sunday, July 18, 2010, members of the Heritage Park Church of God delivered a handmade baptismal to the Second Chance Church. The pastor and congregation were ecstatic to receive it. Although a couple of decorative boards had to be removed so that it would fit through the door, you can see below how happy they were to receive it! As of August 1, 2010, ten people have been baptised, with two waiting until next week! Praise God!

Hallelujah!

Our guys head across the street at 4:00 p.m. everyday. They are able to spend the night inside, if they make it there before the head count quota is met.

Again, Thank you for all of the generosity shown to this ministry by Heritage Park Church of God, Taylor, MI!
